Everyone at Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin’s NHS COVID-19 Vaccination Service would like to say a big 'thank you’ for all the support we have received through the recent weeks of the COVID-19 vaccine rollout – individuals, groups and organisations large and small; donations and voluntary contributions.

We are grateful for the gifts in kind received from organisations such as Shropshire Electrical Supplies and The Bell (Shifnal) who for the last five to six weeks have provided “Free Lunch Friday’s” for staff and volunteers working at the Hospital Hub, Royal Shrewsbury Hospital and the vaccination centre at Telford International Centre.

We thank all individuals and organisations large and small – such as Foodshare UK, Green Fields Farm Shop, Little Vegan Bakehouse, Wheatlands Care Home, Dolly’s Diner, Kebab King Madeley, Slim Choice, Michelle’s Sandwich Shop, ASDA Donnington Wood, Sainsbury’s, Kyle Pugh, Domino Pizza, Greggs, Sonia Leigh and many others – for all your acts of kindness that have brightened up our work place.

We are very grateful to all who have volunteered. The incredible support has helped get Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin’s COVID-19 vaccine programme up and running and with continued support, will help ensure a successful rollout of the vaccine to all eligible residents in the county.

Angie Wallace, COVID-19 Vaccination Programme Director for Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin, said: “Thank you for all the support we have received, we’ve been comforted, encouraged, and humbled by the outpouring of generosity and support from our community. The Covid-19 vaccination team in Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin has done an incredible job to deliver what is the largest vaccination programme in our history and your gestures of support make a real difference, so thank you.”

Karla Jennings-Preece, Operational Manager for the Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin COVID-19 Vaccination Service, said: “We have been overwhelmed by the amount of support we have received and cannot thank our local communities enough. We’ve received lots of kind donations including food deliveries and a range of other donations which staff and volunteers are very grateful for.”

Councillor Steve Charmley, Deputy Leader of Shropshire Council and portfolio holder for economic growth, assets and regeneration, said: “I would like to add my thanks to the ever-growing list of businesses across Shropshire who have helped support the incredible efforts on the ground in getting these centres set up.

“The way the business community has pulled together has been really humbling to see and I would like to remind those businesses that we are also here to support them through our range of business grants and support programmes.”

Telford & Wrekin Council’s Leader Cllr Shaun Davies, said: “On behalf of our Council, I would like to say a huge thank you to the amazing staff and volunteers supporting the local vaccination rollout and to local companies and individuals for their kind donations in assisting local vaccination centres. Their contribution makes such a difference as many more of our residents receive this life-saving vaccine.”

Thank you from all at Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin’s NHS COVID-19 Vaccination Service.
