People at Risk of Diabetes Can Sign Up to Life-changing Programme

It is estimated that one in three people will be obese by 2034, and one in 10 will develop Type 2 diabetes.

As people with diabetes have a significantly higher risk of dying with COVID-19, there has never been a better time to take control of your health and reduce your risk of developing Type 2 diabetes.

The Healthier You NHS Diabetes Prevention Programme can support you to improve your diet get more physically active and lose weight. Access to trusted information and support is key to helping people manage their diabetes.

This world-leading diabetes prevention programme has helped hundreds of thousands of people across the country take small steps to get control of their own health.

During the Covid-19 pandemic, the programme is being delivered remotely via group video conference, or online through apps and websites.

People can now find out if they are eligible to join their local programme by completing the Diabetes UK risk tool. Anyone identified as having a moderate to high risk of Type 2 diabetes using this tool can sign up to the programme online. If you are unable to use the online tool, you can still be referred by your GP practice.
