Not all heroes wear capes. Thanking our nurses on International Nurses’ Day
In celebration of International Nurses’ Day 2019, nurses from the Shropshire CCG Quality Team and Shropshire Community Health Trust have held a tea party at William Farr House.
International Nurses’ Day is celebrated around the world on 12 May, the anniversary of Florence Nightingale's birth - the first lady of nursing.
The tea party at Shropshire CCG was organised by Sam Bunyan, Head of Quality and Safety, and gave Shropshire’s nurses the chance to celebrate with colleagues along with a well-earned cup of tea or coffee, a piece of cake or a healthy snack.
Dawn Clarke, Director of Nursing at Shropshire CCG, said: “We are extremely lucky to have such excellent nurses working within our teams across Shropshire, so this was a brilliant opportunity to thank them for all their great work and commitment.
“It was great to get everyone together and to acknowledge a much-loved profession that contributes so much to society.”
The event was part of a national campaign run by the Royal College of Nurses and ran with the hashtag #ThankYouNurses.
