Important information for patients booking appointments at GP practices during the coronavirus outbreak
Do not go to your practice if you think you may have coronavirus or have any of the symptoms which are a new persistent cough and/or a fever.
As of Monday, 18 May, a loss of, or change in, your normal sense of smell or taste (anosmia) has been added to the symptoms.
There is information on what to do at www.nhs.uk/coronavirus or the Government website. This means you can quickly get help and advice without leaving home or potentially putting others at risk, particularly vulnerable groups such as the elderly, those with underlying medical conditions, and pregnant women.

If you need an appointment
Please DO NOT just turn up at your practice.
A lot of GP practices have changed the way that they are managing their appointment systems at this time.
Not all practices are able to facilitate online bookings, therefore we would suggest you check your individual practice's website for up-to-date information.
Please note, you will still be able to telephone your GP practice to book appointments if your practice is not offering online appointments, or if you are unable to access the internet. We ask that you please be patient, as practices are experiencing a high number of calls at this time.
Patients will be asked a set of questions, either online or over the phone, to ensure that they are referred to the best healthcare professional to help. Some appointments may take place over the telephone or online, where this is possible.
If you already have a pre-booked routine appointment for screening and health checks, and you have not been contacted by your practice to say it has been cancelled, then please attend.

At the moment every practice has the additional challenge of keeping their services running whilst the practice staff and clinicians themselves may be in isolation or ill with the coronavirus.
