COVID-19 Vaccination
Updated January, 2021
The COVID-19 vaccination roll-out has started in Shropshire. The NHS is vaccinating those aged over 80, care home residents and workers, and frontline health and social care workers at high risk first.
Please be patient and do not contact your GP practice. The NHS will contact you when it is your turn to have the vaccination.
Visit the UK Government website for the latest information about the Coronavirus Vaccine.
For local information about the COVID-19 Vaccination visit the Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust website.
Large vaccination centres
Large vaccination centres have opened across England which are capable of delivering thousands of the life-saving vaccine jabs each week and provide an additional option to local vaccination sites across Telford and Wrekin. As with all vaccination centres across the county, people must wait to be invited to book their vaccination and you should not contact your GP practice or turn up without an appointment.
If you are contacted to make an appointment at your nearest large vaccination centre (which may be up to 45 minutes away), but do not wish to or cannot travel that far, you can wait for your vaccination to be given locally.
For a list of hospital hubs and local vaccination services visit the UK Government website.
Scam vaccination messages
The NHS COVID vaccine is free. If you receive a text asking you to click a link to a fake NHS website which asks for payment or other personal details, do not respond and report it to Action Fraud via their website or call 0300 123 2040.
