Motivational Interviewing

Motivational Interviewing (MI) is a  technique to facilitate real conversations by drawing out preferences and goals. Women and families tell us that they often don’t understand the conversations that take place with  Health Professionals and therefore are not able to make a truly informed choice.

Training in Motivational Interviewing is NOW available for all Health Professionals working within Maternity Services across Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin.

Functional Disorders Day

Shropshire Conference & Education Centre (SECC) Royal Shrewsbury Hospital SY3 8XQ (SECC)

This one-day conference will offer insights into the recognition, diagnosis and management of these common conditions that affect a significant proportion of patients seen in both primary and secondary care. Local, regional, and national speakers will discuss relevant aspects of functional illness and share experience on improving the management of patients. An emphasis on practical tips will complement personal experience and evidence- based practice. This conference will be appropriate for all therapists, all clinicians of any grade in primary and secondary care, postgraduate and undergraduate trainees.

2019 General Practice Leadership Development Programme (for GPs and Practice Managers)

Course Fee: £540 which includes tuition fees, refreshments, lunches and evening meal on Day 1.

Cervical Cytology Sampler Initial Training
Tuesday, 22 October, 2019, 09.30am - 4.30pm

Target audience: Registered health care professionals who will be required to undertake cervical sampling as part of their role.
Full day 0930-1630 includes: Assessment of prior knowledge; Introduction NHS Screening programme; Public Health England perspective; Practical aspects of cervical sampling (including consultation discussion, form completion and insertion of speculum)
Half day (6 months later) on 07.04.20.
