This unique conference has been designed to bring together the local health care community and explore through key note lectures the best practice approach to managing sepsis within the respective areas. Expert practitioners will speak on a variety of subjects relating to the recognition and treatment of sepsis both in the community and the acute settings.

Free ‘Safer swallowing for Shropshire’ training event

The free ‘Safer swallowing for Shropshire’ training events are aimed at district nurses, care home staff, community nurses, agency workers and anyone who cares for a person with swallowing difficulties. The training should help to support the change-over to new terminology that is being introduced (by Spring 2019) for describing swallowing difficulties being introduced as part of the International Dysphagia Diet Standardisation Initiative (IDDSI).

Functional Disorders Day

This one-day conference will offer insights into the recognition, diagnosis and management of these common conditions that affect a significant proportion of patients seen in both primary and secondary care. Local, regional, and national speakers will discuss relevant aspects of functional illness and share experience on improving the management of patients. An emphasis on practical tips will complement personal experience and evidence- based practice. This conference will be appropriate for all therapists, all clinicians of any grade in primary and secondary care, postgraduate and undergraduate trainees.
