Market Drayton families invited to share views on midwife-led units
Families in Market Drayton are being invited to take part in a community workshop as part of a review on midwife-led units (MLUs) on Friday 22 September 2017.
The workshop which runs from 10.00am to 12.30pm at Festival Drayton Centre, Market Drayton, TF9 3AX, is an opportunity for people who have used maternity services in the last 2.5 years to share their views.
Shropshire and Telford and Wrekin Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs), which are responsible for designing and buying local healthcare services, are carrying out the review and hosting the workshop.
Families in Market Drayton often have to travel further than others to access MLU services, so the CCGs are keen to hear from local families and get them involved in the review.
Dr Jessica Sokolov, local GP and Clinical Director for Women's and Children Services at Shropshire CCG, said:
“This review is a great opportunity for people across Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin to share their experiences and ideas about MLUs.
“In particular, we are looking forward to speaking to Market Drayton families and listening to their views as they do not have a MLU in their local area and often have to travel to access this service. Feedback from families and staff within the service is very important to this review. In particular, we would encourage all those who have used MLU services over the last two-and-a-half years, or those who work within the service, to get involved and register for the workshop.”
Those who are unable to attend this workshop can book their place at another four workshops taking place across Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin during September. More information about these workshops, including further details about the MLU review, can be found on our website.
