A message from Macmillan Cancer Support:

Invitation to people living with cancer - help shape Macmillan's Primary Care Strategy

GP practices play a really important role in supporting people following cancer treatment. We are looking at how Macmillan can best support GP practices to deliver the best possible care and support to their patients who are living with cancer.

GP practices have for a long time now supported people with long-term conditions such as heart disease and diabetes, and we would like to better understand what’s needed for them to support patients with cancer in the same way.

We would really like to work with small groups of people living with cancer to help us think through some of the ideas we have, so that we can plan our strategy for working with the staff in GP surgeries across the Midlands. The groups will be made up of people with different types of cancer, and we will meet at agreed times and places to talk though some set questions, and share ideas and thoughts.

We are aiming to do this engagement with patients during October and through to Friday, 16 November, 2018.

We will be able to pay travel expenses and light refreshments will be provided.
