Do you know your heart age? Adults across the country are being encouraged to take a few minutes out of their day to get to know their heart age by taking a free online, ‘Heart Age Test’, which asks physical and lifestyle related information, as well as blood pressure and cholesterol, and determines if someone’s heart is at a higher age than their actual age.

Following the requirement from NHS England that all registered patients should be able to access evening and weekend GP appointments from Monday, 1 October, 2018, the CCG undertook a survey of patients and the public. The Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin Local Maternity System (LMS) is launching a Continuity Of Carer Survey and is asking for responses through the Maternity Voices Partnership (MVP) to help them to gather information about the local area.

A Future Fit pop-in Q&A session planned for Wednesday 8 August in Bishop's Castle has been postponed due to unforeseen circumstances. The event - which was set to run from 4pm to 7pm at The Church Barn - will be rescheduled to take place later in August.
More public events planned for Future Fit consultation

Three new public events have been announced as part of the Future Fit consultation to give local people further opportunities to find out more about proposals to transform local hospital services. The new events were announced as the Future Fit Programme Board agreed to extend the consultation by one week until midnight on Tuesday 11 September 2018. The additional pop-in Q&A sessions have been organised in Bishop’s Castle (8 August), Woodside in Telford (29 August) and Welshpool (30 August). Local people are invited to drop in at any time between 4pm and 7pm. The sessions are in addition to two additional public exhibition events announced earlier this month, which will take place in Whitchurch and Newport.
Shrewsbury’s Riverside Medical Practice to move to town’s Tannery site

Shrewsbury’s Riverside Medical Practice is set to move to a new home in the town’s Tannery development, after Shropshire Council agreed to invest in the work required to accommodate the practice as part of its plans to support the regeneration of Shrewsbury’s West End. Three blocks are set to be completed on the Tannery site. Works are nearing completion on the first block which will provide student accommodation for University Centre Shrewsbury (UCS) in the new academic year.
New medical centre, community hub and housing on the way in Whitchurch

A new medical centre, community hub and supported living facilities are to be built in Whitchurch after Shropshire Council agreed to invest in the project as part of plans to regenerate the town. Shropshire Council, Shropshire Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) and The Wrekin Housing Trust will now work together to regenerate and redevelop the Pauls Moss site into a hub of housing, healthcare and community activity that will meet the needs of the local community and reflect the future design and delivery of health and social care services.
