The first two public exhibition events for the NHS Future Fit consultation took place on Wednesday 6 and Thursday 7 June in Telford and Shrewsbury – with around 300 people taking up the opportunity to find out more about the Future Fit proposals.
Temporary suspension of services at Bridgnorth, Oswestry and Ludlow MLUs to continue

Inpatient services, including births, at Bridgnorth, Oswestry and Ludlow Midwife Led Units (MLUs) are to remain temporarily suspended in order to safely staff the units where most of our mothers are giving birth, as a period of focused engagement with service users begins.

Local people are being encouraged to find out more about the Future Fit consultation at the first two public exhibition events in Telford and Shrewsbury this week. The drop-in events run from 3.30pm to 7.30pm and are open to everyone. NHS doctors, nurses and other healthcare staff will be on hand to answer questions, to give everyone the chance to find out more about the proposed changes to services at The Royal Shrewsbury Hospital and The Princess Royal Hospital.

Public consultation into changes to hospital services set to launch

People across Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin and mid Wales are to be asked for their views on proposals to transform local hospital services when the NHS Future Fit public consultation is launched later this month. The board of NHS Telford & Wrekin Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) has today approved the recommendation from the Future Fit Programme Board that the public consultation will begin on 30 May 2018 and run for 14 weeks until 4 September 2018. This follows approval from NHS Shropshire CCG board on Wednesday.
